The End of the Right Thing

It all worked out in the end.  The iPad came on Saturday, and was shipped-out to France on Monday.  Whew!  Now all I have to do is return the extra moolah and simoleans to my friend’s ex’s cousin in Corsica.  I’m so glad that’s over with!  Or nearly…

More Right Thing

I contacted Apple and found out that I had ordered two iPads, so I cancelled one.  We’ll see what happens with the money on April 3rd, 2010.  In the meantime, life goes on.

For some reason line breaks don’t work anymore. I actually do use paragraphs when I write.

I coded this one by hand.

The Right Thing

So, I tried to do the right thing.  Here’s the tale…My friend’s ex-husband’s cousin wanted an iPad and a Nexus One phone, so he could do some testing of applications he had designed.  No problem, right?  Well, he happens to live in Europe and you can’t get either one of those fine products there yet.  I offered to buy them for him and ship them to him.  The right thing to do, right? He sent the money to me via PayPal, and I transferred it into my account without a problem.  That is, no problem until I actually bought the phone and ordered the iPad.  The bank assumed the transactions to be fraudulent, and locked my account.  I had to go there and speak to a very helpful and apologetic representative who called the fraud department on my behalf.  The right thing to do again, right?I got the phone and promptly shipped it off to somewhere I assume is sunny and wonderful.  The iPad, however, is another story.  For some reason the money I spent ordering it reappeared in my bank account, even though the tracking seems to still be in order.  I re-ordered the iPad, and again the money has reappeared in my account.  The iPad will ship on April 3, 2010, and I’m either going to get two iPads or none.  I have no idea yet, but I’m not going to order a third one until I find out exactly what’s going on.  In the meantime, I have more money in my bank account that I can’t spend because it’s not technically mine, and an anxious person in Europe that I don’t actually know depending on my honesty and integrity, and living in hope that I will do the right thing.I live in a semi-anxious nether-land betwixt time and faith in the Apple online ordering system and my bank account’s magically enlarged status.  I’ll let you know what happens next month.  In the meantime, I’m going to assume that no iPad will be shipped to me on the 3rd, and my European compatriot will just have to be patient with my lack of promptness due to bureaucracy and  my well-meaning bank.  Uggh.

Practice Makes Perfect

We’ve changed the band name to “Better Mousetrap”.  The recording continues, now with special guests lined-up to do some parts.  We’ll be playing Gizzi’s in April, on the 30th, so rehearsals will start soon.  I’ve been inspired by the Olympics and I’m going to “go for the gold” at this show by actually practicing my parts until I can do them in my sleep.  It should be a good show, and the CD should be finished by then.I switched back to Windows XP on the recording computer, this time without losing all the data.  It was a little bit scary, mainly because I’ve screwed-up backing-up data before, but this time it went without a hitch. Now if only I could find a day job… stress!!  The future is scary right now, but I’m hanging in there.  I’m surrounding myself with good vibes and hope in the meantime.

Rambling notes.

I’ve been very busy doing the photography thing.  I’m also recording the new Good Dog Nigel album with Jon Geffner, and I’ve started my own CD too.  No name as of yet, but I’m thinking of Blue Robots for some reason.

Good Dog Nigel is a fan of the ASPCA, and we love cats, too.  We’re like that.

Thanks to everybody that commented.  I appreciate the feedback!

My last thought: garbage in, garbage out.  I would like to officially predict the rise of alternative energy once the dollar is not pegged to oil.  I will say it will be within the next three years.  If there is still a dollar - get ready for hyperinflation, friends.

We are looking for somebody to do a video, so if you’re an aspiring auteur,  giddy up.

Live Show Date

Hi everybody!

Jon Geffner and I play together as the acoustic duo Good Dog Nigel.  We’re going to be playing on July 30th, 2009 at Gizzi’s Coffee on 8th Street in Manhattan, between University and 6th.  Yes, it’s on a Thursday.  I know.  You really should take that Friday off and start the weekend early, though, because that’s the proper thing to do.  It’s okay, I checked with your job and they can get along without you for a day.  They even hinted you looked a bit worn-out, and that you needed to get out more…

Our friend Deerheart is on the same bill, at 7:00 p.m. (we’re on at 9:00), so get there early and catch his show if you can.  He writes great songs!

There’s good food and coffee, no cover, and Jon and I will take requests, too.  I may give out another version of the new CD… Those lucky people that got the first version are officially holding one-of-a-kinds now, because the entire pressing has been distributed.

I’m still concentrating on photography for now…  Please let me know what you think!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you at Gizzi’s.  It’s going to be an amazing night.

Two Steps Forward…

So I went for a job interview.  Again.  I don’t know why I even bother.

I deleted everything off of this site, and now I regret it, of course.  Nobody noticed, though, so I’ve actually managed to alienate everybody, apparently.

I think I’ll sell everything and fly away.  Please send potential destinations.  I’ve already been to Hell, so don’t bother being a wise-ass.

Here’s a pine cone.
